Can Coffee cut the risks of getting Cancer?
As of today, research (Philippine Cancer Control Program, under the Department of Health, Philippines) has determined that in every 100,000 Filipinos, there is an incidence of 189 who have cancer. A total of 96 new cases a day. The number will only increase in the coming years as the population grows not only in the Philippines, but the whole world.
The treatment for cancer is quite expensive but experts suggest that one can minimize the risks of getting it by simply living a healthy lifestyle.
Part of this regimen is to consume food items that contain abundant amounts of antioxidants.
An example of which that is overly abundant in the Philippines is coffee. According to research by the American Cancer Society (Over 1,000 studies have been made), that consuming four (4) to six (6) cups of coffee per day greatly lowered the risk of prostate, liver, endometrial, and other forms of cancer in the throat and mouth.
When consumed in it’s purest form (Pure black coffee without sugar and cream), spreads the antioxidants throughout the body and helps the immune system through the adherence of the strengthening of the gastrointestinal tract.
It is still good to know that we can cut the risks of getting cancer by enjoying a beverage that is known to be a staple to the Filipino diet. But coffee alone won’t do the job.
Apart from coffee, you also have to make sure that you are getting enough nutrition. You should eat less meat and more vegetables and fruits. Avoid processed foods, which are usually high in sugar, fat, and other things that does not constitute to a healthy diet.
